"Maggie May" is a song co-written by Rod Stewart and Martin Quittenton and performed by Stewart on his 1971 album Every Picture Tells a Story. Here is my cover of it with the Yazoo Ramblers, which I posted to the channel on June 21, 2026.
Rolling Stone ranked it No. 130 on its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004, and the Mercury Records single went into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2017. It is regarded as Stewart's signature song.
Why I picked it
Shouldn't everybody be somewhere else other than where they are?
