"(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" is a rhythm and blues song composed in 1946 by American songwriter Bobby Troup. The lyrics follow a westward road trip along U.S. Route 66, which ran from Chicago, Illinois, to Los Angeles, California. Here is my cover of it with the Yazoo Ramblers, which I posted to the channel on May 30, 2026.
It became a standard, with several versions on the record charts. The King Cole Trio recorded it first, in 1946, according to the video description.
Why I picked it
Ramble to the west.
