"Wildflowers" is a song written by Tom Petty and the opening track on his 1994 album of the same name, his second solo album. It was released November 1, 1994, on Warner Bros. and produced with Rick Rubin. Here is my cover of it with the Yazoo Ramblers, which I posted to the channel on May 29, 2026.
It was not released as a commercial single until 2020, but it became very popular in concert and is now one of the most beloved songs in Petty's catalog. AllMusic describes a simple but effective folk-based chord progression with a sprightly, almost country-oriented rhythm.
