The Battle Is Over (But the War Goes On), the Levon Helm cover, is the newest song from the Yazoo Ramblers, recorded at our October 8 practice session out in the garage in Milton, Georgia.
Why I picked it
Fighting that never-ending war. The battle is over, but the war goes on, and that is the whole reason I picked this one.
The session
This is a practice session, not a performance. It was recorded in the garage on October 8, 2026, and you’ll hear it that way: a little rough around the edges, and honest about it. We don’t have to be great, but we won’t put out junk, and I think this one’s worth your three minutes.
