"Ramblin' Man" is a song by the Allman Brothers Band, released in August 1973 as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Brothers and Sisters. Dickey Betts wrote and sang it, inspired by a 1951 song of the same name by Hank Williams. Here is my cover of it with the Yazoo Ramblers, which I posted to the channel on June 24, 2026.
It is much more country than most Allman Brothers music, which made the band reluctant to record it. Les Dudek plays the guitar harmonies, and it was one of bassist Berry Oakley's last contributions.
Why I picked it
The name says it all.
